Christmas and a Star Wars story

Christmastiiiimme is here!
... Or it was. And it was a good one. We enjoyed parties and family and good food. It was Sam's first Christmas and he enjoyed tearing paper off of his gifts, then just wanted to play with the paper. I feel like we don't ever need anymore toys and our duplos have spread to another bin.

Harrison was impressed with Santa this year. He was so excited for Christmas morning.

Christmas yields a lot of spare boxes.

It finally snowed. Not super happy about this one.

Cuties. :)

Star Wars Spoilers ahead!

So, I've seen The Force Awakens three times now. Each time was just as good. The final time was with Matt's family and I was just as excited.

We were sitting in front of a large family with a number of children. The kids were mostly good during the showing, which was nice, but one thing happened near the end of the film.

It's that part. Kylo Ren and Han Solo standing on the bridge (that doesn't have guard rails because evil doesn't believe in guard rails). The small child behind us is sitting in their moms lap asking "Is he good now, mom? Is he good?" in reference to Ren.

I had seen it. I knew what was about to happen.

Han is struck, ever so dramatically and the child behind us gives a loud "no!" And starts sobbing. And I mean sobbing. I felt so sad. I did my sobbing the first time I saw it, but maybe your (probably) 5 year old child is a little young for this movie. I just hope they are not forever traumatized by the loss of such an iconic hero.

They did get their child calmed down, but it was a little heartbreaking. And a little funny/cute.

Meanwhile, Harrison loves the dark side and wants to be Darth Vader at con. He also said his brother has to be a storm trooper.
