Sick house & lazy days

We're all sick, or were. Harrison got a cold, was all sick and gooby. Not only did I get sick, but my mom, sister, and dad all got it too. Matt got a scratchy throat, but he's usually better at fending off the plague than he rest of us.

I've been wanting to write for ages. So much has happened since I last wrote and yet, now I can't think of anything. Life.

Harrison is completely weaned from the boob. He did it all on his own, very naturally. Once he got sick, he started sleeping all night and slept past his last nursing session, waking up just before his yogurt and Cheerios breakfast, so I felt it was time. I am proud to say I nursed for 14 months without the assistance of formula :)

He's been doing great since and seems to be getting plenty to eat. After a few sick days of sketchy meals and throwing up a little, he ate like a champ today, no pieces of his PB&J ended up on the floor!

Since we've all been out of commission for the last week, there has been lots of movie and tv watching, lazing on the couch, etc. I'm ready to start doing things again, but I am stalled on my current projects, waiting for some costume packages to arrive.

Harrison is definitely becoming a toddler. He toddles often, is becoming defiant and silly. He got time out 3 times yesterday for splashing in the dog water dish. He's too quick for me sometimes. I had to increase the amount of furniture around the dog dishes so Harrison can't get back there. He's starting to learn how to climb on the furniture, so he'll soon be able to reach the fireplace (which is now being blocked by the ottoman). He does love the fire.

I've been to the MoA 3 times in the last two weeks, twice with Harrison.

First trip, we brought him to the Disney store. Harry loved it. I completely forgot to bring the stroller, so he got to walk around a lot more than normal and he loved exploring all the Disney goodies. No good Frozen merch, though. All of the Elsa stuff was sold out.

The second trip, just Megan and I went. I did some shopping for valentines day.

And last week we got to go with Matt's mom and see the Pentatonix perform. Harrison and I love them. Their nighttime concert had been sold out for some time, and Harrison couldn't go to that anyway, so it was really nice being able to take him to see them at MoA. When they say 'Royals', Harrison pointed excitedly because he knew that song (they did some others we were more unfamiliar with).

We stood farther back because I did have the stroller this time, I didn't want to get In the way of others, but it was a good show just the same.

We're going to the Mall AGAIN on Sunday to see Bill Nye the Science Guy perform experiments. My ten year old self would be so jealous!

Harrison had a ridiculous moment (or 40 moments); the other night.  I woke up coughing really loud and accidentally woke him up. He was in such a tizzy. First I tried rocking him, but he did not like being put back down. He tantrumed and I had just made it worse.  Matt tried, and though he can usually get Harrison to go back to sleep, Harrison was resilient. I went back in after Harrison started screaming. I only picked him up for a moment, laid him back down (he started to cry) and sang him some songs. He quieted to the songs and just stared at me when I stopped.  He refused to close his eyes and I was afraid if I went for the door, he would start to scream again. I said I was just sitting down, sat on the floor and he seemed to just want me in the room. After about 5-10 min of that, I made a very slow, very quiet break for the door.  I don't think I have ever moved so stealthily. I knew he was still awake, eyes open, but I had to try. Success! He didn't realize I had left and soon fell back asleep.

Did I mention I did this while dosed with NyQuil?
