'You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away'
My dad used to sing me this song when I was a baby. I had a little plush, musical elephant named Ellie that also played the song. Now, I sing the song to Harrison. I started to cry softly when thinking about this and that, someday, he too may sing it to his children.
It was not the only time I started crying today. I am a sobby mommy.
A tired Harrison laid on my shoulder. I sang and hummed to him. This time I sang 'A dream is a wish your heart makes' from Cinderella. He snuggled into my neck, feeling the vibrations from my song. He then wrapped his arm around my neck in a little baby hug. He is rarely this cuddly, he is usually alert and looking around while being carried. I don't know if I've ever been happier or more content with my life. I love my life and I love his life. I love my husband and our little family of baby, beast dog and cuddly cat.
Harrison seems happy too, as he just started giggling.

Big 3 Months
Harrison turned 3 months old yesterday! I would say "where has the time gone" like everyone else, but I know exactly where it's gone. Into poopy diapers, frequent clothing changes, more loads of laundry than I can count and one of the best things I have ever had in my life!
I often tell Harrison that I love him more than the moon. More than the stars. More than cherry pie. More than chipotle. More than sunshine etc ( I think you get the point...)
Yesterday, Auntie Megan came over ( and brought food for which I still owe her $). Cinder was very happy and smothered Megan with loves (it was cinders birthday too!). Harrison gets a kick out of cinders overly excited, 'climb all over you' manner and smiled as Megan was being clobbered by our beast dog.
The dog then proceeded to stand in between my legs as I rocked Harrison. No matter what way I moved, she would follow.
Harrison has finally adjusted to daylight savings. The first couple nights were a bit rocky with frequent wakings, but the last two nights he's been back on his once a night schedule. He then slept in this morning until 8:15! Woo!
We've tried switching to cloth diapers twice now. I really really don't like them. They're absolutely horrible to clean out (Harrison has very loose poo, but I was sort of prepared for this part), but the worst is that he's gotten diaper rash both times. We have to switch him back to disposable just to use the desitin. Monetarily, we wouldn't save much by doing cloth because of our 'less than efficient' washer and dryer. I really wanted to like them and feel kind of like a failure because I much prefer the disposable. Costco also helps make then affordable. And I know which Matt prefers.
Harrison has also begun to weasel his hands out of his swaddle at night. I think it's about time to wean him from it. (We use the swaddle sleep sacks, not a blanket so he's still safe). Those of you who swaddle(d) babies, when do you plan to/did you stop?
It's snowing now. I hate snow. Winter can die now. A pox on winter!
Friday means daddy is home early! Yay!
Time to get ready for the day! And I am beginning work on CONvergence costumes. Know anyone in need of a con or renaissance fest costume? Send 'em my way!
