So many things going on in my brain.

Mainly, one more week until we are in our new house. The anxiety of anticipation can be overwhelming. Waiting is the hardest. Been passing the time with a busy schedule.

Harrison started preschool. He is getting so big! He loves school and already made a best friend (she jumps with him in excitement before class). He is so different from me, it's crazy. I was a child needed dragging to preschool. Harrison asks every day if it's a school day. He only goes twice a week, but he starts swimming next week as well.

Sam missed his brother. Harrison was beat after class. He curled up on the couch for some quiet time.

Of course, after one week of school and Harrison is already sick. Luckily, he stayed well through Saturday for the Renaissance festival.

They had so much fun! We visited mermaids, Harrison shot a bow and arrow, they both rode ponies, went to the petting zoo, but if you ask them their favorite part- hot dogs. We found kids meals of hot dogs and apple juice and the boys were thrilled.

Harrison cried when we left, he wasn't ready to go. They were really well behaved too, makes me relieved. It was a very minor test run to what it will be like at disneyworld. A few tears, but overall a really good time!

Now we have a sick little boy. We watched tv all day yesterday and most of the day today. I felt bad, it was so nice outside. But he had a fever all day yesterday, slept 13 hours last night, got sick after lunch, and was nauseous for most of the day. He needed to take it easy. Crossing my fingers for Sam's continues wellness.

Sam is now a year and a half old! We celebrate Harrison's half birthday, since his real one is so close to Christmas. We're going to do a little one for Sam just to be fair. So he got his first little pillow and homemade pillow cases (he picked the fabric himself). He's in love!

He was so excited to nap with it today. And since I caught him trying to climb out of his crib earlier, a big bed might not be far behind...

1 week!!

Busy Busy August

This month is packed with so many things to do! I made sure to make as many plans as possible to keep us busy as we wait for our new house (which our move-in has been pushed back a full month now...)

The rest of July was full with outings to the CDT and Guthrie for Beauty and the Beast and South Pacific. The boys had so much fun playing with their new friend Amy while mommy and daddy went out. So much so, that Sam can say her name.

Sam is my little chatter box. He can say (in his baby way)- baby, grandpa, ball, block, bubble, banana, hot dog, Ivy, mama, daddy. I remember Harrison being so quiet, he didn't start talking until 2, and then took his time from there. Sam also loves babies. Like a lot. He follows them around if he sees one. We have a few baby dolls that have been getting a bit of use.

Our August has kicked off with a family trip to Duluth to visit Thomas the Train. We went up on a Friday, since I figured Saturday would be a lot busier. We started off with lunch at Grandmas Saloon, then off to the Depot. The boys loved it! There were a lot of fun activities including the train ride.

After the Depot, we were able to head to the hotel, go swimming (which they loved, Sam had never really been swimming before), and Pizza Luce for dinner followed by a walk in Canal Park.

The boys were super goofy going to bed, but they eventually slept well. Saturday we took a drive up the North Shore to Split Rock Lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls. The boys liked the adventure and getting their feet wet.

It was a perfect summer trip.

Coming up this month are more exciting things and adventures: Kara and Kyle are getting married! We're also heading out to a family cabin. And then, Megan and I are staying in the haunted Palmer House hotel in sauke centre. Spooky!

September will calm down, especially since Harrison starts preschool, though only a couple of days a week. For now, I'm glad we have so many plans to look forward to.

A Late Con Post 2016

CONvergence 2016 (my 15th year!) seems to have gone off without a hitch. It was a really fun year (although exhausting).

Thursday, the boys and I dressed as characters from Supernatural. I think Harrison really liked it because he got to wear a necklace (which he lost) and he and Sam got to be brothers.

But mostly, the boys were excited for Star Wars costumes on Friday. Darth Vader was very popular and our little family stood out. A Kylo Ren even bowed down before my Darth Vader son and it was hilarious.

Both of the kids were completely burnt out by Friday midday and I think next year we're going to shorten it to one day at con for them. It's just a bit much for a toddler and baby.

Saturday was our free day! The Star Wars meet up was super fun and I was surprised at only 12 Rey cosplays. I was thinking we'd hit 20. I took a lot of pictures and some selfies with random cosplayers.

Saturday evening I was backstage for my masquerade shift in which I ended up tallying all of the scores for the contestants at last minute since someone didn't show up for it. But I like numbers, so it was fun (and I forgot my phone had a calculator, so I started off by hand!) I'm hoping to make it simpler next year with a computer.

I love con. It's my favorite weekend every year. And I am so excited for next year already! Costume plans are in the works!

May the force be with you...

One Month In

We're all settled in at my parents' place. It was rough going for a week or two, especially with the boys sharing a room, but we seem to have finally found more of a pattern. According to my sister, we need our own sitcom or reality show: Full House- MN Edition.

It is a packed house, but it's working out fine. The boys and I go out a lot, Target has seen a lot of us.

Sam is finally taking his first steps! He's still very stumbley, but he's trying a lot harder to walk. He looks so proud whenever he tries.

We went to Aviation Days this weekend. I was really sad Sam and I had to miss the aviation part of it, he was coughing so bad Sunday morning. Harrison got to go with Matt and he's still talking about the bouncy house. But I did get to go to the Hangar Dance, which was a really fun (and much needed) night out.

I'm almost finished with costumes for con. Darth Vader still has a bit of work, but I finally got my spray painting done. I give up on BB-8. I'm not happy how it's turning out and Sam won't even keep it on for ten seconds.

I think he'll just be a little Jedi instead.

I'm also going to start making jewelry. I want it to be cosplay and history inspired. I'm excited to try something new!

1 month down, only 3 more months! Thinking of my little blue house.

To the Last Night

It's the last night in our house. I'm pretty stressed and a little sad. It's hard. This is our first home. And we're not going from here straight to our new home. We get to spend four months (the whole summer) with my parents. Which is fine in the long run.

The 13th house was the charm. I'm so excited for the end of August/early September. Our new place is great. We weren't even the highest bid. The reason we got it is because we agreed to an August move in date (the current owners are having a new house built).

It's going to be an interesting summer.

Some final pictures from our house.

Goodbye, MV!
